This live in-person workshop and webinar will review the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) emergency preparedness regulations. The workshop will focus on tools for meeting emergency preparedness regulations, basic emergency preparedness, integrating health care organizations into a coordinated health care community response, memoranda of understanding between agencies, and an opportunity to network and collaborate with other health care facilities.


At the completion of the program, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss the basics of emergency preparedness.
2. Describe the CMS emergency preparedness regulations.
3. Identify how to collaborate with other health care facilities during emergencies.


This program is appropriate for all in nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and hospices.

This education program meets the continuing competency requirements of four (4) hours for the renewal/reinstatement of a Nebraska Nursing Home Administrator’s license as granted by the Nebraska Board of Nursing Home Administrators. This program is appropriate for the educational requirement for assisted living administrators. This program meets the criteria of an approved continuing education program of four (4) hours for nurses. This program meets the criteria of an approved continuing education program for social work.

Participants must stay in the program the entire time to receive full credit.


Successful completion – To receive nursing contact hours, participants must:

  • Check in at the registration desk.
  • Participate in the large and small group exercises.
  • Attend the entire program to receive full credit.

Nurses: Bring your nursing license number with you to the training.


Please provide your feedback on the program by completing the evaluation. A link to the online evaluation will be emailed to registrants. For those who would rather complete a hard copy of the evaluation, paper evaluation forms will be available at the training site.


Workshop registration: Pre-registration is encouraged. Registration at the door will be accepted only if space permits.

Webinar registration: Must register by 8:00 a.m. on day of event. Webinar registration fees are non-refundable.

Registrants are billed as soon as a registration is received by NNFA/NALA. If an invoice is not received within three business days, please call 402-435-3551 to confirm that the registration was received by the NNFA/NALA office.

All NNFA/NALA Personal Associate Members, Student Members and Business Associate Members; NHPCA members; LPNAN members; and non-members – fees must be paid in advance and must accompany the registration form.
